In aged care, safety and dignity go hand-in-hand. But for care providers, keeping vulnerable residents safe 24/7—especially with limited staff and resources—can be a constant challenge.
That’s where AIoT (Artificial Intelligence + Internet of Things) technology can make a meaningful difference. At Secure Agility, we’re helping aged care providers unlock real-time visibility into resident wellbeing—so they can detect risks sooner, act faster, and provide a safer environment for everyone.
This isn’t about surveillance or replacing care workers. It’s about enabling smarter, more responsive care through discreet, non-invasive monitoring.
Going beyond the call button
Most aged care facilities still rely on residents pressing a button when they need help. But what happens if someone falls and can’t reach it?
Secure Agility’s AIoT platform uses smart computer vision to detect “person down” scenarios—automatically. Without needing wearable devices or manual triggers, care staff can be notified instantly when someone needs assistance.
We can also monitor indoor air quality, detect environmental hazards, and trigger emergency alerts via SMS—all in real time.
“We’ve developed a platform that can detect incidents as they happen and get help to where it’s needed quickly,” says Ahmed Abdeldayem, Product Manager at Secure Agility. “It’s about creating a proactive safety net—not just reacting after the fact.”
Easy to implement, non-intrusive by design
Many providers worry that implementing smart systems means high costs or major infrastructure changes. But that’s not the case.
Secure Agility’s solution can be deployed using existing infrastructure—like CCTV networks—or, where infrastructure is limited, through solar-powered poles with integrated wireless connectivity.
“We can tap into existing systems or deploy off-grid,” explains Abdeldayem.
“There’s no need to rip and replace—we simply add intelligence and start collecting the insights providers actually need.”
And importantly, our system is privacy-first. It captures anonymised data, only stores what’s needed, and applies visual obfuscation (like blurring faces) to ensure resident dignity is protected at all times.
Helping care teams act with confidence
AIoT helps more than just response time—it gives care teams a clearer picture of trends and risks. Whether it’s increased falls in a certain room, or a rise in nighttime wandering, staff can use these insights to improve routines, adjust layouts, or identify residents who may need extra attention.
“What aged care providers really want is actionable data,” says Abdeldayem.
“We deliver the full package—from on-site installation to data analytics and reporting—so providers can focus on care, not the tech.”
